In 2024, my VR exhibition Divine Feminine marked a turning point in my creative and spiritual journey. That moment was a testament to my resilience, honoring my family tree and the history that shaped me. I fought systemic obstacles to make that exhibition possible, and it stood as a milestone in my career - one that affirmed my place in this ongoing story of reconnection and remembrance. My work is an act of remembrance and reclamation. Though I am not able to stand in Nairobi for this exhibition, my voice, my ancestors’ dreams, and my artistry reach back to the continent - bridging the space between past, present, and future. Introduction & Backstory
Memory Carousel is a VR/Mobile Digital Video piece (9:16 Portrait View) archived on the BASE Blockchain, in exhibit during Nairobi Design Week 2025. The work features five reimagined memory jugs, inspired by historical traditions of honoring those who came before. These jugs, crafted through a fusion of AI technology and deep ancestral reverence, stand as modern vessels of remembrance. Every image within Memory Carousel reflects the complexity of my story, preserving history while pushing the boundaries of AI creative design. In a time when AI is often used to erase or distort these narratives, this work serves as a deliberate act of reclamation. It is a reminder that the past is never lost - it lives within us, evolving through the ways we choose to remember. the ancestor speaks: Bridging the Diaspora Through Digital Remembrance Memory Carousel Memory Carousel
Gratitude & Acknowledgments This exhibition would not have been possible without the support of Mbogi Collective/Kenya NFT Club, who welcomed my work and allowed me to proudly represent my Kenyan ancestry while being born abroad. My gratitude also extends to Nairobi Design Week for embracing this vision and giving it a platform. And to you, my supporters, who encourage and stand by me through all the seasons. Thank you, for witnessing me. 0.0s
